It's a Sparkle Party!

Meet Sara.

Sara is my very good friend from college. She recently finished grad school. YAY! She wanted to have a Sparkle Party to celebrate her Master's Degree. So, we got all her friends together, dressed up in our sparkles and headed out to Petar's for a little Diamond Dave.

I will admit that I wasn't a Diamond Dave fan when I first saw him. In fact, I think I lasted about 2 songs before I told Brian that we HAD to leave. It's just a bit weird seeing a middle-aged white haired guy with a glass eye sing Baby Got Back. But I will say, that after a few girls night out, Diamond Dave is growing on me. You can't help but sing along and watch him get down to Lady Gaga. 

See? I'm even dancing the Hukelau!! I haven't done that since the 4th grade spring dance! But we all had a ton of fun and I can't wait for the next Sparkle Party!!

What is the perfect accessory for a Sparkle Party? SPARKLE SHOES!!

But we weren't the only ones having fun. Meet Leather Man and Spandex Man..... two of the most entertaining people to watch in the whole bar. More so than Diamond Dave himself!!

 

Diamond Dave is a good sport too. Not only was he taking our outlandish song requests, but he even posed in a group photo (that's him in the back with the Devo hat).

 And then he posed for us again. Because trying to get a large group of drunk people to all sit still and look at the camera at the same time is very time consuming.....

Congrats on your Master's Sara! May you have many Sparkle Parties in your future!

Oh.....and in case you were wondering where they came up with Sparkle Party, watch this video. I think she knows someone that knows this band. But I'm a little foggy on the details. I was too preoccupied with what I was watching to pay any attention to her story. I'm not going to lie....it's a bit frightening, weird, and oh so good. Enjoy!
