Lisa Lampanelli....Queen of Mean

Lisa Lampanelli is one of my favorite comedians. She's crass, vulgar and tells you like it is. She's a no-holds-barred kind of gal and I LOVE her for it!! Our friend Nathan told us about her, we watched one of her comedy specials and was instantly hooked. My favorite comedians are those that can fire off jokes, but have it be told in a way that's more like a story. There's no awkward pauses as they transition from joke to joke. Lisa's style is definitely one of those girlfriend-to-girlfriend bitch sessions. I LOVE it.

When Christmas came around, we were struggling with what to get Nathan for a gift. He's seriously impossible to shop for. I happened to get an email with some upcoming local shows. On the list was Lisa Lampanelli. Can you say PERFECT GIFT?!?!? I immediately bought 4 tickets and told Brian that we're done shopping. And Nathan was totally surprised when he opened his gift!! 

So, Friday night was the day of the show. It was at the Fox Theater in Redwood City. Because we all had to work that day, we tried to get off work early so we could try and make dinner before the 7pm show. It took about an hour to get there. By the time we left Nathan's house, it was after 5:30. That only left us about 30 mins for dinner. We knew there was an In-and-Out on the way and all decided to stop for a quick bite. Which was a good decision because by the time we got to Redwood City, got the tickets at Will Call and got to our seats it was a little after 7pm.

OMG. The show was sooooo awesome! The opening act was hilarious and Lisa was out of control sassy. She dissed on the people in the front section, told stories about her just-filmed stint on the Apprentice (and now I wish we had TV because it sounds like this season is going to be GOOD), talked about her fight on Twitter with Dog the Bounty Hunter's wife, how clueless The Situation was during one of her Roasts, and her husband of a year, Johnny Big Ball. Ahhh....fun times.

After the show, we walked around the downtown area a bit (super cute), stopped and got fro-yo, and then headed home. The whole drive home consisted of us recapping her jokes and laughing hysterically all over again. Really, it was a great night and Nathan LOVED his Christmas gift!
