When we bought the house, we were told the spa was sold "as is". Everyone knows that "as is" = "not working". But that's ok because we didn't want to keep it anyway.
Why, you may ask??
- We have no idea what's wrong with it
- We have no idea what that would equate to in dollars
- We did not want to have to pay more for electricity to run it or heat it
- We did not want to have to pay more for water to fill it
- Even if it did run, I wouldn't be able to enjoy it. For some reason, my body does not like heat. Heat = Amber is passed out. Passed out in a pool of water = dead Amber.
- Rotten, decrepid wood - this we found out as we were tearing everything apart
So, we immediately decided to get rid of it. Besides, it took up so much room on the patio, that there were hardly any place to sit. Our area gets a wonderful breeze straight off the delta and sometimes we want to eat dinner or just sit out in the patio and enjoy the breeze. But it was difficult with just folding chairs. Around April, one of Brian's co-workers said that he would take it. We didn't want any money for it - we just wanted someone to pick it up and haul it away. It took him nearly 3 months, but last weekend we are the proud non-owners of a spa and gazeebo. The pictures don't do any justice to how big and open our backyard is now.
Next project: Pressure wash the cement slab, purchase a patio set, and restain the retaining wall.
