That's the sound of 2008 speeding by. Seriously. Where did it go??
Looking back at 2008, I can honestly say it was a fantastic year. It was full of laughter, love, libations and just life in general. I don't think I really had any resolutions going into 2008 (that, or I broke every one of them and blacked it out of my mind), but I can say that I don't regret anything I did throughout the year. We got to make new friends, spend time with old friends, and miss those friends we didn't get a chance to see. We got to welcome new members of expanding families, witness the growing bellies of future moms and say goodbye to cherished loved ones that will be with us always in our memories and spirits. We got to travel to far off places yet also got to stay in the cozy warmth we call home. All in all, not a bad year indeed. So what's on the horizon for 2009?
Um, well.....my crystal ball is being repaired so I'll have to get back to you on that one. In the meantime, I'll just have to blog about things as they happen. What I can do, is set some goals to accomplish for 2009.
Goals (aka Resolutions) for 2009.....in no particular order:
- Be more consistant about Blogging - my goal: once a week....and not just my weekly Weigh In posts. Actual posts about the latest Burke happenings.
- Get in shape and change my entire lifestyle. I know it's cliche, but it's on the list. And it's not going to be a DIET. It's going to be a lifestyle change.
- Run my first 5K. And if I don't kill myself at the end of it, I'll sign up for more events.
- Play outside more; ie camping, hiking, kayaking.... If it's outside, I'm there.
- Pay off my debts and build up my savings. I have one credit card and a student loan that needs to go away. Done. Finito.
- Make and sell my jewelry. I FINALLY set up an area to bead. Now if only I can make the time to actually sit down and DO it.
- Not let the stress of work get to me. I'm prideful in what I do. But sometimes that pride turns into worry, that worry turns into stress, and that stress turns into sickness, crabbiness and unhappiness. I'm going to try really hard to not let the pressures of deadlines and idocracy get to me.
I'm sure there's more, but this is enough to get me started.
